USCIS Updates Policy Guidance Requiring COVID-19 Vaccination at Immigration Medical Exams

For many of us whom have gone through the immigration system or at least the public school system know, Vaccination records and immunization shots are part of the norm of the immigrant experience. In an unsurprising move, the USCIS has updated the I693 Medical Examination forms to include the COVID 19 Vaccination. In an AILA Report, “USCIS released updated policy guidance, effective 10/1/21, which “requires applicants subject to the immigration medical examination to complete the COVID-19 vaccine series.” Evidence of vaccination must be given to the civil surgeon before examination. Form I-693 will reflect this requirement. We Urge all of our clients who are able to, to obtain their Vaccine shots. Standardization of covid shots and requirements of vaccines are going to become a commonplace occurrence under the Biden administration and the team at IKS recommends staying in compliance with immigration requirements at all times. We will be watching for any updates of vaccine and covid requirements in the immigration field as they arise. For a full policy alert document please follow the link below: https://bit.ly/3AbKuX4
