USCIS Furlough planned for Aug. 30th 2020

While emergency funding allowed the USCIS to extend fill operations for august, no such emergency bailout is seen to occur for September.

This furlough is expected to last at least 30 days but could be as long as 90 days. as COVID and as the election season ramps up, it is unlikely for any meaningful budget changes headed to the USCIS.

Expectations for furloughs is severe increase in wait time for all immigration petitions. Wait times for immigration documents will also be increased due to the ending of printing contracts with outside vendors.
