In another welcomed action by Congress, Bloomberg Government Reports that lawmakers advanced a proposal on Friday, June 24, 2022. Rep. Grace Meng (D-N.Y.) introduced the amendment to the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Committee, who voted 32-25 to adopt it. The amendment would allow DHS to recapture family and employment-based visas that went unused due to bureaucratic snags, processing delays, and other disruptions since 1992. This will allow the use of green cards from the past 30 Years and make them available to immigrants stuck in long backlogs.

We at IKS ESQ LLC will be watching this legislation closely for any indication of when the USCIS and the DHS Begins to issue these left over Greens Cards.
